Ignite House CEO & Ni2 Chairman Andre Yap piloted our DAYONE blitz and began our flight with the WINNO CHALLENGE.
We want to do 3 things before we land this flight in the next 120 minutes:
Here are 4 hallmarks of Winnovators (people who create winning innovations):
As a result, Winnovators create the biggest opportunities for success - for career, company and country.
We had an overflow crowd gathered in Google Meet and FB Live

12 Hurdles across 3 Zones – this is the app that powers Ni2, the National Innovators Initiative to birth 100,000 Filipino Innovators
Unionbank VP and head of SME Market shared his team’s formula for innovation: connect with customers as whole human beings. Thus, their focus on “Beyond Banking” solutions for SMEs.
We named our Target Stakeholder Iggy in order to humanize them throughout our Launchpad journey.
Iggy can be male, female or any gender as best fits our Target Stakeholder. Outside Ni2, Iggy is often referred to as the customer or user. We prefer "Stakeholder" because many Launchpad projects target not just customers, but also employees, partners, influencers, etc.
Also, the key point about Iggy, our Target Stakeholder is that we want to understand them as whole human beings, not just as users or customers who transact with us. Connecting with our Target Stakeholders as whole human beings is the key to empathy and compassion and one of the most critical drivers of successful Launchpads.
We had hundreds of students and fresh grads from colleges all over the country and 5 of them who had experienced the Ni2 APP-CELLERATOR shared the importance of Hurdle 2 – empathy operationalized!
Concepcion Industrial Corp Chairman & CEO Jojo Concepcion shares one of his greatest challenges: pushing winnovation in a 60 year-old publicly-listed company whose brands are in millions of Filipino homes.
Mike Dauden and Melanie Acosta jump in as well to share their COVID war stories – how to pivot from retail (SM, Abensons, etc) to online (it’s not what you think!)

When talking about innovation, many people say it’s about putting people in a room and brainstorming. That is farthest from the truth. Innovation, in some way, has to do with the platform. It has to have a framework. The Winnovator Canvas is practically the same canvas we’ve been using, as it sets the framework for where innovation happens. It’s not just about thinking about ideas, but about testing agility, speed, and so many other things. |

You know what they say - ‘Necessity is the mother of all invention’. And so ConceptStore happened at a time where all the retailers could not operate because they were located in malls. We had to quickly come up with a way to provide products to our customers despite the pandemic. Since everyone was going online, we figured that it’s about time we do the same. So we set up ConceptStore and at the start we tell you, it was so hard because we really and still are, a successful brick-and-mortar business, for over 60 years. And to do something that is not in the DNA of the company, you are really taking people out of their comfort zone. All of a sudden, everything that we learned, we needed to unlearn and come up with newer ways of doing things. |

Sometimes our VIPs are not comfortable transacting online using their credit cards. As much as possible, they would much rather talk to someone they can trust. So we handle those inquiries and listen to them rather than put them in a box and say that they have to follow everything word for word. What we do is listen to them and if they have a requirement, we pivot on how we can accommodate their request. We do all the transactions and deliver it based on their preferences. If they want it within the day then we make sure that they receive it by then. If they want it gift-wrapped, then we accommodate the request. |
