MJ

MJ, a 4th year Computer Science student from Malayan Colleges and a veteran Guilder, has submitted his Launchpad-driven creation, Weebsite, as an entry in 2021’s PH Startup Challenge. Weebsite, or Project LANCE, is a platform for digital artists and content creators to gain exposure while having a simpler time selling their products or services. While MJ has his project setup, he was still hesitant to launch it, so he brought up his dilemma during Agile Hours. Thanks to feedback coming from the community, MJ learned that “it is important to specify the HOW of the product and divide them by milestones. After that, I can incrementally improve my build according to the user experience of my Iggies.”

KATH

A student reborn into an innovator! Kath, a 4th year Marketing student, is breaking the barriers of the conventional OJT route- she’s now on her way to becoming an entrepeneur! Kath ran into some obstacles with her Loc-Me app, a Launchpad-driven project designed from her desire to keep her loved ones safe and secure. You might think that this is way too ambitious for Kath to tackle alone, but she’s not alone! She shared her obstacles in Agile Hours, such as lack of tech resources to build the app, and our community was quick to help out! Taking advice from the audience, Kath is now revamping her product by revisiting Launchpad Hurdles 1-5 and also exploring Ni2’s Curated Tools, such as a no-code app builder. With a more crystalized product, Kath can soon attract the investors she needs to fully launch Loc-Me.

GERALD

Not bad at all for this 2019 FEU grad who majored in Auditing. In Ni2 Ge was thrown into so much diversity of high-impact innovations and problem-solving that he’s built 10+ years worth of resume in less than 2 years, while growing his roles and skills (and salary!) to become a master innovator himself. Ge’s latest and greatest coup was leading the product architecture and dev ops for the software platform that now powers all of Ni2, The Guild and many other solutions in our pipeline like The Alumni Village, Lifepad, etc. Ge’s Ni2 BFFs? Launchpad (esp Hurdles 1, 11 and 12) and #FutureOfWork.

Unionbank is widely recognized, not only as the country’s most innovative bank, but probably the Philippines’ most innovative big company – period. No surprise UBP has partnered with Ni2 to expand their innovation capabilities to their valued clients – so client too can innovate and grow as fast as the markets demand. VP Jaypee Soliman leads the UBP Ni2 partnership on the MSME front by offering Ni2 Launchpad to 200,000+ mostly micro and small business owners in UBP’s Global Linker platform.

KARLA & JESS

Graphic designer and video producer: that’s how they started. Karla and Jess were expanding into bigger roles in management, ops and events when COVID hit. No problem – as this dynamic duo quickly pivoted and have been Ni2’s leading partners in creating iconic digital experiences that have allowed us to host tens of thousands of community members in Zoom, Google Meets and FB Live environments that feel more like CNN. Currently Ni2 Innovators-in-Residence, Karla and Jess are using Launchpad 1-12 to launch on a new venture called SME STUDIO that will extend broadcast-quality webcasting to other companies and especially SMEs.

Aileen’s operations excellence has often been likened to a lean, mean execution machine, but her experience of Ni2’s #FOW App took her to a whole new level. “#FOW aligns weekly execution vs high-level stratgy and OKRs – it’s a tool to help anyone become strategic thinkers and strategic doers (as they call it in Ni2)”. Aileen has ran talent programs in global multinationals, local conglomerates, top-5 BPOs and fast moving startups and she swears by #FOW. “I want to see all levels of talent using #FOW (and Superpower-6) to take their careers and their teams to the Future of Work now”!

CEO of Concepcion Industrial Corp, a 60 year old public company whose products are in millions of Filipino homes, leads the launch of Concepcion Peak Performance, an Ni2-powered 3-in-1 accelerator. First of all, CPP builds on the Live @ Ni2 platform to run its Market Accelerator for the Future of Home Experiences. CPP also uses Ni2’s open collaboration platform in order to run its Workforce & Career Accelerator for its highest potential employees and Partner Accelerator for preferred dealers, distributors, and other partners and SMEs.

MIGUEL

Stanford D-School and IDEO come to 200+ colleges and LGUs in the Philippines. That’s the pedigree Migs brings in the field of Human-Centered Design Thinking and Agile Innovation, which forms much of the methods of Ni2 Launchpad, #FutureOfWork, Superpower-6. Add to that Migs’ many years as a favored consultant of many of the country’s biggest and most innovative corporations, plus his own family startups like Aranaz and Felipe & Sons, and you’d have to be as excited as we are that Migs will be co-piloting many of our Ni2 Daily Flights, where we do live on-air mentoring of our community of practice, many of whom will be joining us from corporations, SMEs, schools and LGUs across our 7,100 islands!

Three long-time friends and old high school classmates reunite in Ni2 and find jobs together while co-founding their own startup to help young people like them go from zero to career hero. And they did it all in just 6 months! How to go from C-average students who had nothing on their resumes and were struggling to find jobs in the pandemic, to being visionary leaders helping thousands of college students? They credit Ni2 Launchpad app, especially Hurdles 1-5, with helping them map their Zone of Opportunity. Plus, Ni2 #FutureOfWork and Ni2 Superpower-6 for challenging them every week to grow in the most critical areas of their careers. These dudes are locked in doing what they were born to do.

Sometimes they come to us with a cape and superpowers already – but that just makes it all the more gratifying and promising when we win them over! Danni is still an undergrad and student leader, but she has already assumed major leadership roles in the real world of work. Wanting to accelerate her next level, Danni is now leading critical market sprints via Launchpad and #FutureOfWork BTL Cycles with fellow Ni2 Innovators-in-Residence.

SWEETIE

Sweetie, a 4th year Marketing Management student from Arellano University and one of our newest Guilders, shared with the community during an Agile Hour that she needs to be more comfortable with being uncomfortable and to be an out-of-the-box thinker, because for her, that’s how she’ll conquer whatever life throws at her, whether in her life or future career. As she learns and practices the Superpower 6, the six critical competencies for success for any professional, Sweetie will develop into an out-of-the-box thinker and doer.

MJ

Still very much in college, but that hasn’t stopped MJ from being a hardcore Ni2 Guilder and blitzing the Ni2 Launchpad en route to launching his new digital ID app. He credits LP Hurdles 1-5 with his game-changing pivot to focus on HR pains (and forget all other customer segments for now). Using The Empathy Project App that comes with Launchpad, MJ took customer-centricity to a whole new level by getting to know his customers, not just as business transactions, but as whole human beings. He’s now reaching out to national HR groups to blitz LP Hurdles 6-10, with a view to co-creating with them in his eventual sprint to launch. While MJ is mastering Ni2 Launchpad, he’s also mastering the Ni2 Superpower-6 that will allow him to launch again and again and again.

MJ & EULA

MJ and Eula, student leaders in their respective colleges, validated a skill that is essential for them, even while they’re still in school – Superpower #1, or owning project outcomes & impact! MJ, Eula, and many other Guilders have been able to understand the value of S1, and how important it is for them to reflect that in their careers even as early as now. MJ and Eula both recognized that the “pwede na” attitude is not enough and that it’s held themselves and others back from truly innovating. They know that to increase their stock and value as a professional entails proving to themselves, to their teams and bosses, and to their stakeholders that they are willing to do everything that it takes to achieve the outcomes and impact that they are working on.

Groupthink, or following the direction of the smartest person in the room, is a common reality in school and in the workplace. Lai and Eula, among our other Guilders, discussed during one of our Guild’s Daily Flights that S3 needs to be practiced more not just in the workplace but in school too, because of how prevalent groupthink has been in their own experiences as leading figures in their respective student orgs. As Lai shared with the community, S3 is about TEAM – Thinking And Empowering All Members (to share their own ideas and perspectives, for the benefit of the team and its project).

Ronen, a newcomer to The Guild hailing from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, is empowered to make something good out of the IT skills he’s learning in his course. In the short time he’s spent in our community, he’s realized that just excelling at what he does is not enough. As we often discuss Genius, Purpose, and Service during Ni2’s Daily Flights, he’s become adamant that his future endeavors need to be relevant to his GPS so that the best of who he is can be given to people who needs his talents the most. Ronen is currently developing an app that assists job seekers through a job matching system, and was even extended an offer to collaborate with Ignite House on more digital solutions since they both share the same mission.”

MENARD

Menard, studying BS Psychology in Xavier University, may be a newcomer to The Guild and Ni2 community, but through attending Agile Hours, he has learned and gotten to express his appreciation for the power of Genius, Purpose, & Service. He understands as an eventual career professional, that being agile and relevant in an ever-changing world requires him to find and follow his genius – that’s where Menard wants to start first, and doing so will allow him to discover what his purpose is and who he wants to serve.

CHRISLENE

Who’s that girl? Professors and classmates have been asking what happened to the Chrislene that they knew – she’s unrecognizable! From a shy 4th year Marketing student, to a confident Chrislene who is actively empowering her peers to go out of their boxes! In The Jumpstart, Chrislene shared how her journey in The Guild made her reevaluate who she wants to help and serve. She shares the pain of students who have limited educational access compared to those in Manila and it’s pushing Chrislene to not only to build confidence among her fellow Guilders, but also to empower students in provinces by recruiting them into The Guild! Truly a vision born out of her personal Genius, Purpose, & Service!

CURT

How do you launch a product or service, especially when you’re still in school or recently graduated? Curt, a sophomore and aspiring entrepreneur, is faced with this challenge. During Jumpstart Tuesday, Curt was exposed to Ni2’s Launchpad – a step-by-step guide that anyone can use to launch their own products or services. He was also encouraged to form a team aligned with a shared mission, because collaboration needs a diversity of minds and skills that align with the team’s shared mission. This is key to building a solid team and foundation, and that can be discovered by reflecting on their GPS. While Curt and his teammates find their personal Genius, Purpose, & Service and align them with a shared mission, Curt now has a foundation and the tools to finally start and launch his product! Stay tuned on how Curt & Co. progresses with Ni2!

JOANA, ELAINE, & THE LIFEPADDERS

They’re coming out of the woodwork – and inspiring a lot of Ni2 collaborations! There was one day in Ni2’s September cohort where both our Pre-Flight Lounge and Agile Hour were taken up by 3 Guilders working on 3 different Launchpads targeting better mental health solutions for college students like them – an increasingly desperate need made worse in the pandemic. Enter Joana (20+ years global experience) and Elaine (social media consultant and life coach), longtime friends and Ni2 Innovators-in-Residence who are teamed up on a number of projects, among them Lifepad, a self-paced, app-powered, community-rich life coaching platform that helps people design and launch a Life Ignited in 100 days or less.
